Using Google Analytics 4 (GA4) demo accounts lets you practice using real business data. It’s beneficial if your property lacks enough data. The demo offers an excellent opportunity to familiarize yourself with GA4’s features, tools, and reports.
What is the Demo Account? The demo account is a functional GA4 account available to all Google users. It hosts two GA4 properties, filled with data from the Google Merchandise store and the Flood-It! app. This data gives you genuine insights into traffic sources, user behaviors, and transactions.
Accessing the Demo Account:
- Add either or both of the demo accounts Google Merchandise store and or Flood-It! app & web data
- Sign in to your Google account or create one if needed.
- Google will then either add the demo to your existing GA4 account or establish a new one with the demo added.
Limitations of the Demo Account:
- Users only have the “view” role, limiting actions mainly to data observation.
- GA4 demo properties lack features like reports, exploration, and export capabilities.
- It doesn’t display the device ID dimensions.
- The demo doesn’t work with the analytics reporting API.
If you decide you don’t want the demo account anymore, you can remove it like any other account.
